Casa Fiesta was the ideal location for the six of us, all visiting Costa Rica for the first time. We were in Puerto Viejo for my daughter's wedding and stayed 10 days at the house and the apartment above the garage. We took many walks into town, visiting restaurants, shops, the farmers' market, the open stalls along the beach, and the ATEC office. The property manager, Susana Schik, a former Peace Corps volunteer, is a goldmine of information, having lived there for 19 years and worked with ATEC and other community organizations. Rene, her husband, has a taxi service and helped us navigate the shoreline of the Caribbean as we tended to wedding details. Others have mentioned the convenience of having two bar/restaurants just down the road. The owners of both are friendly and the food is delicioso! There is a neighborhood grocery store, too. Afternoons and evenings were spent on the patio, in the pool, and walking the Caribbean shoreline. It truly is a perfect home base.

Just returned from our 4th CR vacation and our 4th stay at Casa Fiesta and have to report that the property just keeps getting better with each stay! They have just relandscaped and we can't wait till next year to see how it has grown! Also keep finding more things to do in the Puerto Viejo area!! We loved the Jaugar rescue center where you get to go in an area with baby Howler monkeys-you get to hold them and let them crawl all over you! What therepy!!! If you do think this is something you would do, before you leave the US stop at Walmart and get a bag of Lactose free powdered milk and bring that for the babies at the center. This is something much needed as it can not be obtained in CR. It will very greatly be appreciated! Looking forward to next year!

We are going to Puerto Viejo in Feb 2012, this will be our 4th visit to the country having traveled the entire country. I liked your comment about bringing powdered milk to the Jaguar rescue. Is there anything else we can bring for the rescue center? This information is usually obtained once you are already there, knowing this now we can come prepared with helpful items.

We stayed at Casa fiesta for only 3 nights and wish we could have been there longer. The house is wonderful and has more than anyone could need. It is an amazing place to relax right on the beach or sit poolside in a lounging chair and listen to the waves. We didn't find any bug problem at all in this part of Costa Rica but the screened in porch is still a great place to sit with a morning coffee or evening cocktail. We have stayed all over Costa Rica but found this area amazing and well worth making a trip to see. We will certainly be back and hope we can stay at Casa Fiesta again the next time.

We staying at Casa Fiesta 7/25/10 through 8/21/10. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we enjoyed every minute of it. The owners were wonderful during the arrangements. The local property managers, Susana and Rene, were absolutely great! All recommendations met and exceeded our expectations. We were a party of 4, 2 adults and kids aged 15 and 18. We had a great time SCUBA, Surfing, hiking and relaxing. We were also able to visit a local village with Susana. What a wonderful experience. The location of the home worked out great for accessing everything we had need of. Thanks so much for a great vacation!

We stayed at Casa Fiesta for the second time May 16th through May 28th. It was, as we learned from our previous trip, EXACTLY what we love. The tranquility, relaxation and location are so great, we instantly felt "at home" once again. We also enjoy the local family we came to love, that being the dogs. So much fun to have them follow you everywhere you go, sleep outside and wait for you to get up to enjoy another day together. We love the house, local area, Susanna, the manager who lives very near is a sweetheart, we enjoy it all. So, guess what? We are planning on returning yet again in January for my birthday! The pool was such a great addition from last year, refreshing and private. We enjoy chilling out, going to the beach, exploring the local area so Casa Fiesta has become our favorite destination. Thank you Sue for the beautiful place Ed and I both love so much. We have NO complaints and can't wait to return! We miss Mr. Paws and Blacky, love those dogs!!

The house, the grounds and the pool!! Great!! Well equipt. You can walk to town via the beach in 15 mins. What could be better. The people we meet and the dogs that come to visit are all truly treasures. Tup and Ro for the best message and yoga ever at Serenity South just a walk away! This was our third stay and it just gets better each time! If you come please accept the dogs that come to say hi! Feed them, pet them, they are your vacation dogs, they are just great. Good little pals they will follow you everywhere, guard you when you are there and eat any leftovers as will the horses that come to visit. A special experience! We will be back!

Casa Fiesta was really a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed Jeffery & boi-boi's hospitality at the local tavern. Downtown was really accessible being only a 15 min walk. The sound of the sea was really relaxing at night. We highly recommend it for a relaxing vacation.

We enjoyed the casa for 2 weeks in January and had a great time. Excellent accomodations for 2 couples or more if you rent the additional bungalow. The location is perfect! Not right in town and close enough to walk if you want.

We rented a car locally from Poas and explored. Next visit we will rent bikes as you can get anywhere you would want on a bike.

Beach right out the front door. Pool if you like but the ocean is the way to go. The screened in patio sure took care of the bug problem but they weren't to bad.

Within an easy walk is a small store the has the essentials and next door is Jeffrey's Tavern and Boi Boi's Jamaican BBQ. Must visit this place and get to know Jeffrey and Boi Boi.

Our two week stay at your house and Puerto Viejo was spectacular!!!! We loved the area and the people so much we are in the process of buying land not to far from your home. It is true that Puerto Viejo is not for everyone, but if you like diversity, a laid back environment and the friendliest people then you too will love this area.

We were a group of 10 people. Our family of four stayed at Casa Fiesta in the main house and a couple stayed at the apartment above the garage, the other family stayed next door at Pedro’s place. Every night we would come together for dinner in the screened in porch, which was bug free to relax, have lots of laughter and listen to the ocean or take a late night swim in the new pool which was an absolute bonus. The hammock on the porch was the most desired location. The house was a prefect location with the ocean in our backyard with wild horses that would visit throughout the day, a 15 minute walk into town to shop and meet the locals, which were the friendliest and most welcoming people. If we needed to travel farther we would ride our bikes that we rented for a week or use the bus system, which was easy to use and located right down the street from the house. Your property is literally a piece of paradise that we would love to come back and visit again.

In addition your property manager Suzanna was an absolute gem, who made our experience even more memorable with a guided tour of how the Bribri make chocolate, and help making other excursion plans.

We both wanted you to know we had an absolutely wonderful time at your house and in Puerto Viejo. The house was perfect, and very well stocked. We loved using the porch, the bugs really like me so I especially appreciated that. We enjoyed the music CDs you had, they really fit in with the "mood". Susanna was wonderful, and very helpful.

Puerto Viejo was so much fun, we were surprised to see so many Anglos, I think hippies from Boulder congregate there! We took ATVs down south, and hit all the beautiful beaches. Driving in the big cities was a challenge, but people along the way were very helpful. We drove back to San Jose through the mountains, and I couldn't make my camera work fast enough, the produce fields were amazing!

We found CASA FIESTA through VRBO and what a GEM! We arrived in Costa Rica May 2nd, after flying to San Jose, we drove to Puerto Viejo for a fantastic 9 night stay.

Casa Fiesta is located in a VERY secluded, beautiful and peaceful location in Puerto Viejo. There are no loud cars, traffic, you hear nature and crashing waves instead!

The house, a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom FULLY furnished, air conditioned house is dynamic. There is security, the entire house is surrounded by a gated fence with secure locks All the windows have bars on them, the outside is very beautiful and very well kept. The security measures make you feel safe, although we never encountered ANY problems during our entire stay that would make us feel uncomfortable. The inside of the house is very spacious and exceptionally clean. There happens to be EVERY POSSIBLE item needed from plates, pots and pans, bowels, towels, sheets, pillows, glasses, refrigerator, TV, CD player, washer and dryer, utensils, hangers, lounge chairs on the lanai, ceiling fans, phone with calls within Costa Rica, a safe, digital alarm clocks...we were speechless as there is not ONE item needed beyond what is included!! It truly is like being at home yet away from home in a BEAUTIFUL location, one that leaves lasting memories that will remain forever.

The screened lanai is a wonderful addition to the house. A lazy siesta in the hammock while watching and listening to the waves crash on the beach is truly pristine! The lanai has great lighting for the evening, party lights (white tube lights) line the ceiling which give a great look and wonderful mood setting for the delightful warm and tranquil evenings. The property owner is very friendly and very helpful. She (Sue) takes the time to answer any questions you may have and has a local property manager who lives very near the house (Susana) which is very convenient if you do need anything.

We enjoyed Casa Fiesta so much, we really didn't want to leave and plan a detailed, busy itinerary on our vacation. We simply enjoyed the location, the small trendy town of Puerto Viejo but a lot of time, just being at Casa Fiesta was a treat in itself.

Located right down the road, a simple walk is a local store where you can exchange the 5 gallon water bottles as often as you want, making sure to have fresh water at all times to drink and cook with, along with ANY item you may need from envelopes to milk! We plan to return time and time again as we found a wonderful place, one that can only be enjoyed by a visit!
